3 Basic Missions of CSF UP
1. Breathe deep:
John 13 – Washing of the disciple’s feet
II Cor. 3:18: 18And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
We are being transformed into his likeness with ever increasing glory that comes from the Lord who is the Spirit (breath)…ever-increasing glory from the breath of God.
We tend to drink in revelation (from scripture…and nature) only in short, quick breaths…taking him in only so far…not allowing him to completely change us and make us different. More like Christ.
2. Lock arms:
Acts 2 - The Fellowship of the Believers – Community - 42They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. The “Basic Needs Initiative Network” – www.basicneedsinitiative.blogspot.com
3. Run to the Battle:
1 Samuel 17:48 As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. 49 Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the
50 So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.
51 David ran and stood over him. He took hold of the Philistine's sword and drew it from the scabbard. After he killed him, he cut off his head with the sword.
Fight the good Fight – 1 Timothy 6:12
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Real. Simple. Community. Life.
Breathe Deep, Lock Arms, and Run to Battle.
